Create Sales Price Templates
You may have special pricing based on a customer types of project or some other criteria. To easily establish that pricing, a Sales Price Template can be linked to a project and used to import values into the Resource Prices page.
Reasons to use Sales Price Templates:
To assign specific pricing to a project.
To create Sales Price Changes for projects. When associating a template to a project, the system will insert the lines from the template and add the project ID\task ID (if applicable) to the lines to associate them specifically to the project.
To make updating resource prices in the Resource Prices page much quicker and easier by allowing you to make mass updates using the Get Template feature to populate values from a Sales Price template.
To create a new Sales Price Template manually:
Navigate to the Role Center > Setup > Template Setup > Sales Price Template.
Select New from the ribbon.
Code: Create a unique Code to identify the new Sales Price Template.
Description: Create a description to uniquely identify the new Sales Price Template.
Sales Price Template Lines: Template Lines on the Sales Price Template allow you to enter the lines that will be used as a template to update prices on projects. You can select Template Lines from the ribbon to open the Sales Price Template Lines page.
Start Date: Enter the date the price change should take effect.
Currency Code: Enter the currency code to be used for this price.
Type: Select the Type of price this line defines. Options are:
- Resource
- Resource Group
- All
Sub Group (Resource)
Code: Select the code of the record to be priced based on the Type you selected.
Project No.: Select the Project number if you wish to define the price at the project level (Optional).
Project Task Code: Select the Task code if you wish to define the price at the task level (Optional).
Resource Group No.: If you selected Resource Group for Type, select the Resource Group number from the displayed Resource Group list.
Work Type Code: Select the work type code from the defined list of work type list. (Optional)
Unit of Measure Code: Select the unit of measure from the defined list of units of measures from the Standard list. (Optional)
Profit Calculation: Select the option to base profit calculation on. Options are:
- None
- Percentage
- Amount
- Fixed Price
Percentage: If the profit calculation is Percentage, enter the profit percentage here. Price will be set as Cost plus this percentage.
Profit Amount: If the profit calculation is Amount enter the profit amount here. Price will be set as Cost plus this amount.
Price: If the profit calculation is Fixed Price enter the fixed price to bell for this line.
OT Factor: Enter an Overtime factor (Optional)
OT2 Factor: Enter an Overtime 2 factor (Optional)
Chargeability: Select if this line item will be chargeable. Options include:
- Yes
- No
- From Task
Once you have entered the prices for the resources (i.e., resource, Group (Resource, SubGroup (Resource) or All), you can use the Update Resource Price List to update the Resource Price List based on this template. Selecting Update Resource Price List from the ribbon opens Edit - Update Prices from Template Journal page.
