Project Attributes
Use Project Attributes to view or edit the project's characteristics that help to describe the project. You can use project attributes to add new fields for your Project to track information specific to your company.
Set up Attributes one time and they are available for all projects
Navigate to the Role Center > Actions > Setup > Project Setup > Project Attributes.
Select New from the ribbon.
Name: Specifies a unique, user defined code to identify the attribute.
Type: Specifies the available settings for the project attribute. Choices include:
- Option: User defined list of possible values
- Text: User enters a value that is alpha/numeric at the time the attribute is added to the project.
- Integer: - User enters a value that is a whole number at the time the attribute is added to the project.
- Decimal: User enters a value that is either a whole number or decimal at the time the attribute is added to the project.
- Date: User enters a value that is a date at the time the attribute is added to the project. The date format can be yyyy-mm-dd, mm-dd-yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy.
Blocked: Specifies that the related record is not available to be posted in transactions, for example a customer that is declared insolvent or a project that is placed in quarantine.
Actions
- Translations: Opens a window in which you can define the translations for the selected project attribute.
- Project Attribute Translations:
- Language Code: Specifies the language that is used when translating specified text on documents to foreign business partner, such as a project description on an order confirmation.
- Name: Specifies the translated name of the project attribute.

To add an attribute to a project
Once an attribute is set up, you can select it on any project. Project Attributes are viewable in the Fact Box on the Project Card, Project List or Project Plan. Additional options are available on the same Project menu: Filter by Attributes and Clear Attributes Filter.
Navigate to the Project Plan, Card or List.
Select Project > Attributes from the ribbon.
Attribute: From the dropdown, select an attribute.
Value: If the attribute was setup as an Option List make a selection from the drop down list. The Value for the other types is user entered.
Unit of Measure: Specifies how the value is quantified, such as piece or hour. Not required, not all attributes will have a unit of measure.
