BC Projects to Progressus Projects
Overview
The BC Projects to Progressus Projects function provides users with a pathway to upgrade their Business Central Projects and Resources to Progressus Projects and Resources. This process enables users to perform mass-updates to master data from Business Central Projects and Resources with selected Progressus values to make it compatible with Progressus Project and Resource tables.

Two concepts to understand when using this feature:
Upgrade options are used to add or default specific fields that are required in Progressus that were not required in Business Central, without user intervention.
Assign options are used to select fields in Progressus that do not exist in Business Central (e.g., Project Manager, Person Responsible. As a result, Projects are created with the required fields populated.
For Resources, these fields would include Timesheet/Expense Sheet, Timesheet Configuration, Line Manager, and Cost Type.
For Projects, a Project Template is selected to set values for the Project Plan, and Project Card including the Task Template, Project Manager, and Person Responsible.
Tip
A Business Central Project that has not been upgraded will have the Project Card - Application Method set to "Apply to Oldest". The Tasks will not display in the Progressus Project Plan.
Update Resource
Use the Update Resource button to access the Assign Resource Values and Upgrade Resource options.
Assign Resource Values
Use Assign Resource Values to select Resource field values in Progressus that do not exist in Business Central Resource tables.
Important
Note that if open Timesheets or Expense Sheets, or Timesheet Periods exist for the Resource, these values cannot be updated using this method.
Highlight a Resource No. to be updated.
Click the ellipsis next to a Resource No. and Select More. Check the circle on any Resource No. lines to be updated. Check the circle at the top left to select all.
Note
Only lines that will have the same selections in common should be included. The process can be repeated as many times as necessary to update all Resources in the list.
Click on Assign Resource Values to open the Select Fields To Update Progressus page.
Select Resource Fields

Timesheet Configuration Code | Specifies to update Resources with the Timesheet Configuration Code selected from the drop-down. |

Cost Type | Specifies to update Resources with the Cost Type code selected from the drop-down. |
Tax Area Code | Specifies to update Resources with the Tax Area Code selected from the drop-down. |
In the Select Resource Fields section, choose values from the drop-down lists to update Business Central Resources with Progressus values. Click OK.
Click OK to message "Resource successfully updated." The fields in the selected lines are updated with the Resource values.
Upgrade Resource
Upgrades a Business Central Resource to a Progressus Resource. A Business Central Resource that is upgraded to a Progressus Resource will have the following changes made:
- Resource Costs and Resource Prices are created with a Start Date = Resource Card > Employment Date.
- If the Resource Cost > Direct Unit Cost and Indirect Unit Cost % exist, the same fields in Progressus Resource Costs will be updated, which updates Unit Cost.
- If Profit % exists in the Business Central Resource, the same field will be updated in the Progressus Resource Prices (Profit Calculation = Percentage, and Percentage = Profit %.)
- If Unit Price only exists, the Resource Price is updated with Price (Profit Calculation - Fixed Price).
- Click OK to message "This process will create Progressus Resource Cost and Prices for..."
Update Project
From the BC Projects to Progressus Projects page click on Update Project to display the Project List.
Assign Project Values
Use Assign Project Values to select Project field values in Progressus that do not exist in Business Central Jobs(?) tables.
Highlight a Project No. to be updated.
Click the ellipsis next to a Project No. and Select More. Check the circle on any Project No. lines to be updated. Check the circle at the top left to select all.

Click on Assign Project Values to open the Select Fields To Update Progressus page.
Select Project Fields
Field Name | Description |

Salesperson Code |
Specifies the unique identifier for the salesperson or purchaser. |
Project Manager | Specifies the number, code of the Resource assigned to oversee the job. |
Person Responsible | Specifies the number, code of the Resource who is assigned as a secondary person to oversee the Project. |
In the Select Project Fields section, select values from the drop-down lists to update Business Central Projects with Progressus values. Click OK.
Click OK to message: "Project successfully updated.”
Assign Project Template
Use Assign Project Template to dynamically assign values to selected Projects, from a Project Template.
- From the Project Template list, highlight a template to use for all selected projects. Click OK.
- Click OK to message "Project successfully updated."
Upgrade Project
Use Upgrade Project to add a default Budget Version, and upgrade Business Central Tasks to be visible in the Progressus Project Plan. Any Project selected will have the following updates done:
- Active Budget Version: Set to the Active Budget Version in Progressus Project Setup > Number Series FastTab.
- Customer Project: The Customer Project Boolean on the Project Card > General FastTab is set to True.
- Application Method: The Application Method field on the Project Card > Posting FastTab is set to "Manual."
- Highlight a Project to be upgraded.
- Click the ellipsis next to a Project No. and Select More. Check the circle on any Project No. lines to be updated. Check the circle at the top left to select all.
- Click Upgrade Project.
- Click Yes to message "This process will add a default budget version and upgrade BC tasks to be visible in the Progressus Project Plan for the selected Projects. Do you want to continue?"
- Click OK to the message "Project and Project Task successfully updated."
